Having graduated from the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2015, where he studied comic art, animation, screen printing and engraving, Jean Mallard now devotes himself to his favourite techniques – watercolour and gouache – which have been a part of his life since childhood. Inspired by popular Russian painters, Indian and Arabic miniatures, Japanese prints and naïve painters, he loves to imagine infinite, dense and intensely colourful worlds, much like that of Iberian Leather, a fragrance whose power has led him towards vibrant reds and deep blacks.
